History - Words Together Worlds Apart

Words Together Worlds apart is a virtual reading series born out of pandemic, but meant to outlast it. Held bi-weekly, WTWA will help us maintain and build literary community across distance and time zone through our shared love of words.

We have implemented a number of security measures, so this event WILL require registration:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

After a bit of a hiatus due to personal and global chaos, our fifth event will center around the theme of HISTORY. Featured readers include Ruth Awad, Ashley M. Jones, Kwoya Fagin Maples, Philip Metres, & Jessica Q. Stark. Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach will host with co-host Kelly Grace Thomas. The reading will be followed by an interactive discussion as well as a history-themed writing prompt.

Let's find solace in each other's words together, even as we stay worlds apart.

Please purchase books by the authors! There is a suggested $5 donation to support the reading series and its readers, which can be paid via Venmo @ Julia-Dasbach or PayPal: jkolch@gmail.com. Half of the funds raised will be donated to BLM and the other half, distributed evenly among the readers and the series. Contributions are always welcome but never required.

We regret that we are unable to caption the full event, a PDF of the poems is available and the discussion will be transcribed.
